PURPOSE:To obtain a polyolefin of excellent polymer stereo-regularity, by (co) polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a catalyst comprising a specified Ti catalyst component, an organoaluminum compound and an organosilicon compound or a sterically hindered amine. CONSTITUTION:A 3C or higher alpha-olefin is (co)polymerized at 20-200 deg.C and a pressure of atmospheric pressure - 100kg/cm<2> in the presence of a catalyst comprising (A) a Ti catalyst component obtained by reacting 1mol of an Mg compound (e.g., MgCl2) with 1-0.005mol of a Ti compound of the formula Ti(OR)4 and 0.1-100mol of a halohydrocarbon which serves as a halogenating agent (e.g., CHCl3) at 0-150 deg.C for 10min-200hr, (B) an organoaluminum compound catalyst component (e.g., triethylaluminum) and (C) an organosilicon compound having an Si-O-C or Si-N-C bond (e.g., triethylmethoxysilane) or a sterically hindered amine catalyst component (e.g., N,N,N',N'-tetramethylmethylenediamine).
