The present method aims at protecting motor vehicles against towing and/or stealing which would cause a modification of the motor vehicle inclination. The inclination is measured by means of a tilting-sensitive sensor which, upon a modification of the inclination, generates an alarm signal. To avoid false alarms upon inclination modifications which are not caused by a towing and/or stealing, the signal is tested as a function of different criteria. Only when all criteria indicate that the vehicle is effectively being towed or stolen, the alarm is set off. |
