A recorder for recording variable measurement quantities on a strip chart moving in the feed direction, particularly a multiple curve tracer, the chassis arranged in a closed slide-in housing being divided into two in a horizontal plane and comprising an upper and a lower housing part which are positioned with respect to one another via a hinged connection. The hinged connection enables the upper housing part to be tilted up with respect to the lower one, as the result of which the entire strip chart area becomes accessible for exchanging the strip chart and for inspection. The lower housing part therefore essentially contains the structural components and units which are responsible for receiving, supporting, guiding and feeding the paper or strip chart whilst the upper housing area contains the recording devices with measuring systems.
