The plant for bark-peeling tree-trunks or the like comprises a rotary bark-peeling tool (1) having a cylinder (10) carrying skinning knives (31). Said cylinder (10) may be displaced or hinged to an oscillating arm (13) against the tree-trunk (5). The tree-trunk (5) to be bark-peeled is displaced with respect to the bark-peeling tool (1) in the longitudinal direction by means of wheels (16, 27, 29) guided by rails (2, 6) and rotates about its axis by means of a driving device (18). For simplifying known bark-peeling machines and enabling the processing of known circular and curved tree-trunks, the plant is provided with a holding device (19) at one end of the tree-trunk (5), which holding device is combined with the driving device (18) which rotates the trunk, and is also provided with a support device (28) located in the region of the bark-peeling cylinder (10) for insuring a loose support of the tree-trunk (5); the skinning knives (31) carried by the cylinder (10) form an acute angle with respect to the tree-trunk axis. |
