PURPOSE:To stabilize the idling rotational frequency of an engine just after its starting, by opening a by-pass for a throttle valve when more than a prescribed time has not elapsed since the starting and when the temperature of cooling water is lower than a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:In a control routine executed in every 32msec, for instance, for an air control valve for opening and closing a by-pass around a throttle valve, it is judged whether a third count CSTA has exceeded a prescribed value C (4 to 10sec, for instance, in terms of time) or the temperature of engine cooling water has exceeded a prescribed level D (65-75 deg.C, for instance). If the third count CSTA is lower than the prescribed value C or the temperature of the engine cooling water is lower than the prescribed level D, a control signal is sent out to open the air control valve. The by-pass is thus opened for a prescribed time since the starting of the engine and for the period of warm-up. |
