PURPOSE:To obtain good positive electrifiability and extremely superior stable electrifiability after the lapse of time by incorporating a salt of a dye having an amino group and a monocarboxylic acid having >=5 C as an electrifiability controller. CONSTITUTION:The liquid developer contains as the electrifiability controller the salt of the dye having an amino group and a monocarboxylic acid having <=5 C. The acid used for forming the salt may include a monocarboxylic acid preferably, having 8-30 C, such as benzoic acid or linolenic acid, optionally saturated or unsaturated. These acids exhibit sufficient effects, so long as they have some solubility in the carrier fluid, and enhance positive electrifiability of toner particles. A mixing ratio of the dye and the acid is not especially limited, and the acid can be allowed to react with the dye in an optional ratio. |
