A skylight with dome-type or flat-type glazing can be used inside an opening (29) of a roof or the like and has a circumferential flange (28) which is fastened on the roof around the opening. The frame is constructed in such a manner that it comprises a basic frame (14) and an operating leaf frame, in order to serve as operating leaf frame or as operating leaf. A mounting (22) is used to fasten the skylight cover over the operating leaf frame. The frame comprises a rigid or stiff plastic film (core) with high temperature-resistance properties and a plastic covering material which is extruded over the externally exposed surface of the core in order to protect the profile with regard to the weather. Preferably, a flexible sealing sleeve device is provided with the profile and the cover, which comprises respective seals which interact both with the basic frame and also with the operating leaf frame. <IMAGE>
