A sealing profile for sanitary articles of daily use, in particular for shower trays and bathtubs, which is used for the watertight sealing of the joint formed between the edge of the tub or tray and the wall covering, has substantially the shape of a U-profile which can be attached to the edge of the tub or tray, engaging round said edge laterally from the outside, in such a way that the web of the U-profile lies between the downward-projecting leg of the edge of the tub or tray and the wall, whereas the two U-legs rest in a clamping manner against the edge of the tub or tray. In addition, the U-web of the sealing profile can have, at the upper end, a moulded-on web extension which tapers cross-sectionally towards its free end.
