N-oxides of pyridyl carboxylic acid esters of the following formula are described: <IMAGE> wherein R is <IMAGE> wherein X is a hydrogen atom, straight or branched C1-C5-alkyl, C5-C12-cycloalkyl, 1-adamantyl, or cyclohexylacetyl, and wherein Y is a hydrogen atom, straight or branched C1-C5-alkyl, 2-ethylbenzofuranoyl-3, C5-C12-cycloalkyl, or 2-[(4-chlorophenoxy)-2-methylpropanoyloxy]ethyl; a process for the manufacture thereof, pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds, and method of using the same. These compounds are suited for use in the treatment of hyperlipidemas. |
