A lamp is described, in particular for use as indicator lamps in electrical and electronic circuits, comprising a substantially transparent housing (12) in which is disposed e.g. a light-emitting diode (20) connected to a cable (26). The housing (12) is adapted to be freely rotatable with respect to the cable (26) so that twisting of the cable is avoided on screwing the housing into a socket. The light-emitting diode may be mounted in a socket (22) also freely rotatable in the housing (12), the socket (22) housing an extension (28) to separate and engage between wires (24) in the cable (28). By this means compressive stress on the light-emitting diode (20) is avoided. A freely rotatable cable clamp (30) avoids tensile stress on the light-emitting diode (20). <IMAGE> |
