PURPOSE:To simplify working and to provide rotating accuracy with the use of inexpensive parts by specifying the number of revolutions, inertia moment and unbalance quantity of a rotating body including a polygonal mirror of an electric motor of an optical scanner to a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:An optical scanner which is attached with a polygonal mirror 3 to a shaft 2 supported by a ball bearing 11 of an electric motor 1 and is used for a printer designed to be printed by the laser light 5 reflected from said mirror is constituted by setting the inertia moment value or a rotating body including the mirror 3 of the motor 1 at the value set in accordance with the time when the motor rises to a prescribed number of revolution, setting the number of revolutions of the rotating body at the value between the upper limit value set in accordance with the life of the bearing 11 and the lower limit value set in accordance with high-speed printing and setting further the unbalance amt. of the rotating body at the value lower than the unbalance quantity at the lower limit value. The rotating speed in the stationary state of the optical scanner used for the printer is thus maintained and the printing quality having no prolems in practicable use is maintained even if the scanner is used for the printer. |
