The invention relates to the use of modified abrasive grains in plastics bristles, thermoplastics, in particular polyamides, being extruded together with the modified abrasive grains or hot modified abrasive grains being sintered onto thermoplastics bristles (for example by whirl sintering or scattering on). The invention also relates to the modified abrasive grains themselves and to the production thereof from conventional abrasive grains, to which fillers are applied using organic or inorganic binders, the inorganic and/or organic fillers containing 1-60% by weight of organic compounds, preferably organic aliphatic compounds having a boiling point of at least 100 DEG C.
