PURPOSE:To provide a titled press which permits energy economization, a reduction in size and an improvement in productivity by the constitution in which a screw spindle is rotated by an air motor to move upward and downward a slider and the compressed air is fed into an accumulating tank during ascending of the slider. CONSTITUTION:A pneumatic screw press moves upward and downward a slider 11 in a press frame 9 by rotating a screw spindle 8 fixed with a flywheel 5 which is driven via a pinion 12 and a spindle gear 4 by an air motor 3. A solenoid 21 on a forward revolution side of such screw press is first turned on to feed air from an accumulating tank 25 to the motor 3 by which the motor is run forward and the slider 11 is moved downward. The downward movement to the prescribed position is detected by an encoder 2 which turns off the solenoid 21 to idle the motor 3 thereby dropping the slider 11 and pressing the work. A solneoid 24 on the backward revolution side is then turned on to run backward the motor 3, by which the slider 11 is moved up to the prescribed position and thereafter the solenoid 24 is turned off and the compressed air from the idling motor 3 is fed via a check valve 22 into the tank 25. |
