PURPOSE:To provide an electric contact material for strong current excellent in welding resistance, obtained by sintering a mixture prepared by mixing silver, indium, zinc and nickel in a powdery form in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A powdery mixture consisting of, on a wt% basis, 10-20% nickel, 1-10% indium, 1-15% zinc and the remainder of silver is sintered to prepare an alloy. When this alloy is used as an electric contact material, it is equal to or better than a silver-cadmium oxide alloy in welding resistance, consumption resistance and contact stability. |
