PURPOSE:To prevent thick coating at the starting part for coating a coating liquid in a bead coating process by increasing approaching speed of a feeding device of the coating liquid at the start of coating. CONSTITUTION:Coating of coating liquid 5 on the web 1 is performed by moving a slide hopper 3 with a specified speed in parallel to the surface of the web 1 moving with a high speed while contacting the coating liquid 5 with the surface of the web 1. Thus, bead 5a is formed and coating is started. The approaching speed of the slide hopper 3 in this stage is regulated to 1-5cm/sec, and the running speed of the web 1 for this speed of the slide hopper 3 is set to 20-200m/ min. Under this condition, bead 5a is quickly formed and stabilized as soon as the contact of the coating liquid 5 with the web 1. By this way, thick coating of coating film at the starting stage of coating is definitely prevented.
