PURPOSE:To prevent the stagnation of air in a filter housing and to increase the filtration efficiency by arranging a pipe, having a discharge hole on the outer circumference at the lower end part, in a cylindrical filter, and communicating the pipe with a discharge pipe. CONSTITUTION:The liquid to be treated is supplied into a filter housing 2 through a supply pipe 9 by driving a pump 1 with air. The liquid to be treated flows into the outer circumferential part of a filter 3 from an inflow hole 11 of a ceiling plate 10 of the filter housing 2, filtered through the filter 3, and flows into a discharge pipe 7 from a discharge port 12 at the upper end of a pipe 8 provided at the center of the filter 3. At this time, since the air is always pushed upward to the upper end surface of the pipe 8, and discharged immediately from the upper end of the pipe 8, the inside of the filter 3 is filled with the liquid to be treated and the filtration is carried out all over the outer circumferential surface of the filter 3. As the air is supplied after finishing the filtration, the liquid remaining inside a filtration apparatus 4 is discharged into the discharge pipe 7 from a liquid discharging hole 5 at the lower end of the pipe 8.
