PURPOSE:To detect the lateral flow of the conditioning air in a painting booth at an early time with a wide range and to prevent color fogging by providing a detecting member which can be oscillated to the ceiling part on the inlet side of the painting chamber and the ceiling part on the outlet side thereof. CONSTITUTION:When an air feed fan 8 is operated upon starting of an operation, the outdoor air is introduced into an air conditioner 9, and after dust is removed from said air, the temp. and humidity of the air are regulated by said conditioner, by which the air is supplied into an air feed chamber 2. The lateral flow of the air is generated in a painting chamber 3 upon increasing of the amt. of the conditioning air to be supplied through a filter 2 from said chamber into the painting chamber 3 and decreasing of the amt. of the conditioning air to be discharged to an evacuating chamber 4, then a lightweight air receiving plate 22 oscillates to the forward and backward direction of the chamber 3 by the laterally flowing air. A bar-shaped member 20 suspending said plate is therefore turned and the turning angle thereof is transmitted to a rotating angle detector 23. The evacuating fan 19 of an evacuating duct 18 is eventually run faster according to the rotating angle, by which the balance of the conditioning air is regulated.
