PURPOSE:Continuous sweet is nipped with a nipper which is running at an equal speed to the sweet every certain interval and the nipped parts are pressed for cutting whereby the cut parts become the same shape, because the sweet and the nipper are moved at an equal speed. CONSTITUTION:Raw materials for sweet such as corn are fed in an extruder, heated, pressurized and continuously extruded through the dice 1 to effect molding of continuous sweet with a round cross section. At this time, the sweet 2 is flexible enough to undergo free deformation, right after the molding, and nipped with the device 3 every certain interval. The nipper is set on the chain 4 which moves parallel to the direction to which the sweet is extruded and at the same speed as of the sweet. Therefore, the slow sweet 2 extends by the difference in moving speeds and its running is not interrupted, resulting in equal length of the sweet products. As the sweet goes forward, the nipping nails 6, 7 gradually approach to narrow down the sweet at the nipping parts as shown in 2a, 2b and finally cut into pieces.
