PURPOSE:To prevent the return of moisture to spaces to be air-conditioned due to the stoppage of compressor and also wasteful operation of an air conditioner by forcibly actuating a compressor after the lapse of a fixed period of time when the humidity is higher than a fixed value. CONSTITUTION:When the temperature of room goes down to less than a set temperature at the time T1, a compressor is stopped, and when the temperature rises to more than the value of set temperature plus 2.0 deg.C (differential) at the time T2 before the count number of a counter reaches TM, the operation of the compressor is restarted. When the compressor is stopped at T5, the temperature becomes lower than the value of set temperature plus 2.0 deg.C (differential) until the count number of the counter reaches TM, and the indoor humidity is lower than 60% R.H., and therefore, the compressor is still stopped. When the humidity rises to more than T7-60% R.H., the differential temperature is reset to 0.5 deg.C, the room temperature becomes higher than the value of set temperature plus 0.5 deg.C, the compressor is forcibly started, and at the same time the differential temperature is reset to 2.0 deg.C.
