PURPOSE:To obtain a tuyere protecting reagent excellent in tuyere protecting and steel refining by pelletizing and sintering the mixture of the specified amounts of slaked lime, calcium fluoride and iron oxide. CONSTITUTION:10-80% slaked lime, 5-50% calcium fluoride and 5-50% iron oxide are mixed and pelletized. This pellet is sintered, and 2CaO.Fe2O3 (dicalcium ferrite) is obtained. This tuyere protecting reagent is composed of three components, that is, iron oxide which is the oxygen source for oxidizing phosphorus in steel, CaO fixing P2O5 to slag side and CaF2 regulating the fluidity of slag. By said tuyere protecting reagent, the effect of tuyere protecting and molten steel refining is improved. |
