PURPOSE:To shorten a nozzle and to provide substantial strength to the nozzle in an endless track type horizontal continuous casting device by the constitution in which upper cooling blocks are moved rectangularly. CONSTITUTION:A molten steel 9 is supplied continuously from the nozzle 12 of an inlet 11 and upper and lower cooling blocks 6, 1 are moved at an equal speed to grow gradually a solidified layer 10 to a plate shape. The upper cooling block 6 rides on the hand 21 of a lifting device in a corner part A and when there are no blocks 6 left on the hand 23 in a corner part D, the hands 21, 23 are simultaneously risen to rise the block 6 in the corner part A to a corner part B. The block 6 in the part B is then pressed by the hand 22 and is pushed toward a conveyor belt 26 so that another block 6 is placed on the hand 23 in the corner part C. The hands 21, 23 are moved downward simultaneously to bring down the block 6 on the corner part D. The block is pressed by the hand 24 and other block 6 is moved to the corner part A. The upper blocks 6 are rectangularly moved in the above-mentioned way, by which the nozzle 12 is made shorter and stronger. |
