PURPOSE:To make the use of a low-horsepower pump possible, to reduce the cost, and to reduce the damage of a filter cloth by connecting an auxiliary booster pump for generating high pressure to an original liquid supplying pump in parallel. CONSTITUTION:After each filter frame 3 is clamped with a presser panel 5, an original liquid is supplied under low pressure into a filter press 6 by operating a main pump 7 and opening a solenoid valve 9. At this time, the piston of a booster pump 11 is moved backward in a pressureless state to introduce the original liquid into the cylinder. Then the solenoid valve 9 is closed and the piston of the booster pump is moved forward by a hydraulic cylinder 10 to force the original liquid in the booster pump 11 into a water lifting pipe 8. In this way, the dewatering pressure in the filter press 6 is increased to the maximum pressure, and the dewatering is carried out. Then, after keeping as it is for a fixed time, the hydraulic cylinder 10 is moved backward to make the dewatering pressure negative, and the solenoid valve 9 is opened. Thus the original liquid is forced in again under low pressure through the main pump 7 from the water lifting pipe 8.
