PURPOSE:To perform accurate measurement of a distance, by varying a judging level of a judging means, which compares the outputs of elements and judges the relationship between the outputs of the elements. CONSTITUTION:From a judgment control circuit 11', a ''0'' pulse of a strobe signal is outputted. The output arranging patterns of light receiving element lines 3 and 4 are made to be converted patterns of converted outputs q1, q2 and q3. The converted output q3 of the light receiving element line 3 becomes all ''1'' when the output difference between the neighboring light receiving elements is 4 EV or less. A counter 10'' counts the ''1s'' of the converted output q3. When the counted number of the counter 10'' is equal to the bit number of a shift register 7b, a comparator 28 outputs a signal, which indicates that the effective coincidence cannot be detected, to the judgment control circuit 11'. When the counted number is less than the bit number, a signal, which indicates the state of the effective coincidence, is outputted. Based on the above described operation of the judgment control circuit 11', the output arranging pattern of the light receiving element lines are converted into the converted output patterns. By the converted output pattern, accurate distance measuring data is obtained. |
