<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a titled shutter which has a very simple structure, uses a small driving energy, also is inexpensive, and can be converted to a high density easily, by cutting off or opening an optical path by a movement of a magnetic fluid. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic fluid 31 and a transparent fluid 32 which are not compatible each other are enclosed by half each into a transparent cell 30. Plural openings 33 are formed at a prescribed pitch on the right side half of the bottom face of the transparent cell 30, and a magnet 35 and a substrate 36 for an electrode are attached to the side distant from the opening 33, and the opening side, respectively, and in accordance with the opening, a loop-shaped electrode 37 is formed. When the electrode 37 is not conducted the magnetic fluid 31 is attracted by the magnet 35, an optical path 39 is opened, and when the electrode 37 is conducted, a magnetic field is generated, the fluid 31 is attracted to the opening 33 side, and the optical path 39 is cut off. Therefore, a structure of a titled optical shutter becomes simple, its driving energy becomes small, and it is inexpensive and converted easily to a high density.</p> |
