PURPOSE:To obtain a sealing material excellent in pliability by adding a bulk material to powder of fluororesin for turming it into the shape of a sheet followed by removing the bulk material through vaporization for making it spongy. CONSTITUTION:The primary particle pulverized powder, cohesion secondary particle powder of fluororesin and ammonium hydrogencarbonate serving as a bulk agent are mixed by dispersing them in a solvent followed by kneading them into the shape of a sheet while removing said solvent and the bulk material by drying for being given heat treatment under about 200 deg.C and made into a spongy sheet of fluororesin. Said sheet is arranged on both side sealing surfaces 3, 3 and 4, 4 of each gas separation plate 2 of a matrix type fuel battery as sealing materials 7 and 7' for forming the stack sealing part. |
