PURPOSE:To increase transmitted torque and facilitate the manufacture and assembly of a motive power transmission device while keeping reduced stress concentration, small starting torque and high efficiency, by providing a flexible gear comprising two portions which are coupled to each other and one of which extends in the radial direction. CONSTITUTION:A circular splined member 9 having an internal gear is secured on a case 10. A wave generator 8, which is elliptic and has an antifriction bearing on the peripheral surface, is coupled to an input shaft 11. A flexible gear 7 comprising a cylindrical external gear of small thickness and a mounted portion shaped as a cup and having a small thickness is coupled to an output shaft 12. The inside of the external gear is fitted on the outside of the wave generator 8. The open portion of the flexible gear 7 is elliptically flexed so that the major-diameter part of the portion is engaged with the internal gear of the circular splined member 9. As a result, transmitted torque can be increased and manufacturing and assembly are facilitated while small starting torque and high efficiency are maintained. |
