The linear voltage regulator has a pair of complementary power transistors (T1) which are inserted in series between a voltage input (VIN) and a voltage output (VOUT). A current measuring circuit is connected in parallel over one of the power transistor and has a current measuring resistance (R). A reference current path with a reference resistor (Rrep) is connected between the voltage input and a reference connection in series with a current sink.
