<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a superlarge-sized liquid crystal panel whose field of view characteristics is improved, by providing an oriented film which has been rubbing-processed so that the upper half part and the lower half part become the lower side and the upper side, respectively, in the good field of view direction of the liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:The lower half part of an upper substrate 5 is covered with a mask, rubbing- processed in the direction as indicated with an arrow A, and subsequently, only the lower half part is rubbing-processed in the direction as indicated with an arrow B. In the same way, only the upper half part of a lower substrate 5', and the lower half part are rubbing-processed in the direction as indicated with an arrow C, and in the direction as indicated with an arrow D, respectively. Corners (a), (b), (c) and (d) of the upper substrate 5 are combined opposingly with corners a', b', c' and d' of the lower substrate 5' so that they are placed on each other, and they are sealed by a sealing material 7, also a liquid crystal substance 8 is enclosed, by which a liquid crystal panel is prepared. This liquid crystal panel becomes a TN type liquid crystal panel of a left twist if a chiral substance of a left twist is added in advance to a liquid crystal substance, therefore, a good field of view bearing of the upper half part becomes a bearing of six o'clock, and the lower half part becomes a direction of 12 o'clock. Therefore, even when the whole liquid crystal panel is looked out over, the whole can be observed well at once.</p> |
