The oil control ring has a base body (2) that is provided with an impact opening (10). The impact opening cooperates with a spring element on its inner peripheral surface. Multiple slots (12,14) are provided in an area of an outer peripheral surface of the base body based on a respective front edge (11) of the impact opening. The slots are provided for holding or guiding an end area (13) of a sealing element (7) overlapping the impact opening. The sealing element comprises an elastomer or a plastic material.
