FIELD: instrument making. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to different designs of a steering wheel. The steering wheel comprises a frame, which consists of a rim and a cross beam, an upper foam element, which is put on the upper part of the frame, a lower foam element, which is put on the lower part of the frame in contact with the upper foam element, and a leather cover, which covers the upper and lower foam elements. In different versions of making the steering wheel, to prevent rotation of the foam element and reduce the weight of the frame around the rim, at least one circular groove is made in the rim, where at least one of the upper and lower foam elements are put. Also on the upper or lower foam element at least one circular projection is made, which goes into the first circular groove. Around the rim and foam elements, circular grooves can be made, which are spaced out at given distances, and separate circular projections, which go into the circular grooves to prevent rotation of the foam elements when assembling the rim and the foam elements and provide for allowance for expansion due to foaming when making the foam elements. ^ EFFECT: reduced weight of the foam element and easier manufacturing, as well as reduction of natural frequency of oscillation of the steering wheel and provision for high processing ability. ^ 16 cl, 17 dwg |
