PURPOSE:To manufacture connecting rods effectively by forming a plurality of notches at the semi-cylindrical surface of each of the two members, rod body and its cap, providing bolt holes and coupling, and then finishing large-end hole. CONSTITUTION:Notches 33-36 smaller than the portions for removale 31, 32 are formed at the semi-cylindrical surfaces 29, 30 of materials 1a, 2a, for the body of a connecting rod and a cap for it, and bolt seats 19, 20 are formed at the leg parts 12, 13 of the material 1a, and also bolt holes 15, 16 are provided. Likewise, nut seats 25, 26 and bolt holes 23, 24 are formed at the leg parts 21, 22 of the other material 2a, and in this process the fit surfaces 3, 4 shall be finish processed. Then the two materials 1a, 2a are fastened by bolts 5, 6 and nuts 7, 8, and the parts defined by hatching in the attached illustration are finished by broaching etc. to form recesses 10, 11. Thus a connecting rod as desired is obtained. This arrangement assures manufacture of connecting rods cheaply and efficiently. |
