PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode structure from which any brazing members do not flow out and on the inner surface of which metallic getter powder can firmly be fixed by providing the inner surface of the brim-like section of an eyelet-like end hat with a groove surrounding the cylindrical section of the end hat. CONSTITUTION:A first end hat 10 made of molybdenum has an eyelet-like shape consisting of a cylindrical section 10a and a brim-like section 10b extending from one end of the cylindrical section 10a. On the inner surface of the brim-like section 10b, a groove 11 is provided surrounding the cylindrical section 10a. A ring-like sintered brazing member 12 is installed in the groove 11. A second end hat 14 has the same constitution as the first end hat 10. When the sintered brazing members 12 and 16 are heated and molten in vacuum by high-frequency dielectric heating, brazing material layers 12' and 16' cover the peripheral end surfaces of cathodes 1 without flowing outside. After that, metallic getter powders 17 and 18 composed of titanium or the like are fused to the peripheral areas of the end hats 10 and 14 in which molybdenum is exposed. |
