PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fibers, drawable at a high drawing ratio with little adhered parts, by flow drawing undrawn polyester fibers, modifying the cross- sectional shape of the polyester fibers, and neck drawing the resultant fibers with modified cross section. CONSTITUTION:Undrawn polyester fibers are flow drawn in a warm water bath, etc., and the cross-sectional shape of the undrawn polyester fibers is modified. The polyester fibers with the modified cross section are then neck drawn to give the aimed polyester fibers. The cross-sectional shape of the above-mentioned polyester fibers is preferably hollow and modified, and more preferably modified cross section having one or more protrusions.
