PURPOSE:To permit to transfer into electric power generating mode smoothly by opening runner blades excessively in a transferring process until a runner chamber is filled with water perfectly. CONSTITUTION:When mode of operation is switched from a phase regulating mode into generating mode, an ON-OFF switch is put ON automatically and a runner blade bias signal, preset in a runner blade bias signal generating unit, is impressed to open the runner blade temporarily and partially for a short period of time until the runner chamber R has been filled with water. According to this method, the runner blade will never be provided with an excessive thrust force and the damages of the runner blades as well as a thrust bearing may be reduced. |
