PURPOSE:To produce a desired printed matter as a suitable image easily and speedily, by a method wherein the first and second supplying systems and the first and second recording means are provided, a recording member is supplied by selecting one of the supplying parts, and one of the recording means is selected to form an image on the recording member supplied. CONSTITUTION:The first ink jet recording head (for a thermal paper) 16 is supplied with a water base ink, while the second ink jet recording head (for a film) 17 is supplied with an oil base ink. Driving of the head 17 is controlled by a detection output from a sensor 22, while driving of the head 16 is controlled by an output from a sensor 23. To driving circuits 130, 131 for the heads 16, 17, image signals (a) corresponding to image information read by an image-reading means are supplied through an image input interface 132 and an image memory 133. Further, a driving signal is supplied from a controlling circuit through an image- controlling circuit 134. Based on both the image signal and the driving signal, the head 16 or 17 is energized by the driving circuit 130 or 131 to form an image on the recording paper 2 or the film 4 fed from the cassette 1 or 3. |
