<p>A dental fixing implant for fixing to a maxilla (2) has two bodies (1,4) joined together, one (1) of which is provided with an external threading (3) to be screwed into the maxilla and a central axial hole into which one end of the other body (4) bearing a dental prosthesis (8) is introduced. A seal (5) is provided in the body (1), the body (4) being driven into the body (1) so that ridges (6) are moved past and co-operate with the seal to provide a degree of axial movement as in a natural tooth. A further seal (2) is provided between opposed surfaces of the body (1) and prosthesis (8) to provide a force damping effect. Notches (9) are provided to facilitate removal of the implant if necessary.</p> |
