PURPOSE:To obtain a display having a good color, and to reduce a noise by superposing at least two colors of three primary colors of red, green and blue, and shading a gap of each picture element. CONSTITUTION:A blue mosaic 15, a green mosaic 16 and a red mosaic 17 have areas 18, 19 and 20 superposed on an adjacent color mosaic, respectively, and by superposition of this color mosaic, a gap of a conventional color filter is filled up and shaded from a light. As for a spectral luminous intensity distribution of blue 12, green 13 and red 14, a part where a wavelength distribution of each color is superposed is a very small wavelength area, and its transmittivity is small. Accordingly, the greater part of a light can be shaded by superposing two colors among three primary colors and executing a subtractive color mixture. In case of the subtractive color mixture of blue-green, and the subtractive color mixture of green-red, a weak light transmits, if so much, in the vicinity of 500 nm and in the vicinity of 580nm, respectively, and in case of the subtractive color mixture of red-blue, the light can be shaded almost completely. |
