PURPOSE:To enable to prevent leakage of cooling water to an intake passage, by forming grooves in an intake system plate-like member disposed between a carburetor and an intake manifold in the manner that they extend across joining faces between a hole formed in the plate-like member for passing intake air and a hole for passing cooling water. CONSTITUTION:A member 12 in the form of a laminated plate, consisting of a heat insulator 11 and gaskets 10 attached to both faces of the heat insulator 11, is interposed between a flange 4 of the throttle body 1 of a carburetor and a flange 7 of an intake manifold 6. In both faces of the plate-like member 12, a groove 15 extending across the joining face is formed between a hole 13 formed in the plate-like member 12 for passing intake air 13 and a hole 14 also formed in the member 12 for passing cooling water. Arrangement being as above, if airtightness between the above two through-holes 13 and 14 is broken, cooling water is passed through the grooves 15 and flows to the outside from the side end portion of the plate-like member 12, so that leakage of cooling water to an intake passage 8 is prevented positively. At the same time, leakage of cooling water can be detected with ease. |
