PURPOSE:To enable the lowering of the lower mold (supporting plate) after the upward motion, by attaching a particular collar at the upper end of the rod for pushing up the lower mold, and attaching a particular engaging member for engaging with the collar to the lower side of the plate for supporting the lower mold. CONSTITUTION:The lower mold 7 is inserted into the cavity 6 of the main mold 5 from below, and is supported with the supporting plate 10 through the rod 11. A number of the mold sets are arranged circulary with regular intervals, and are rotated intermittently. Rice balls are formed by charging cooked rice into the cavity, forming the rice by pushing down the upper mold, and removing the formed rice ball from the mold at each halt position. At the rice-charging position, the circumferential collar 26 and the groove 25 are attached at the upper end of the rod 23 for the temporary lifting of the lower mold, and the engaging member 27 having a hook-shaped engaging part 27a which can engage with the collar 26 and the groove 25 is attached to the lower part of the supporting plate 10. |
