<p>PURPOSE:To assuredly detect the selection of an automatic feed or manual feed by providing a paper feeder with discriminating means for discriminating the selection of manual feed and control means for controlling the drive of an apparatus body according to signals of a detecting element and discriminating means. CONSTITUTION:A micro-switch 140 is discriminating means for discriminating the selection of manual feed and adapted to output a selection signal. A switch 225 is adapted to output a signal for discriminating the size of paper in a paper feed cassette. A magnetic detecting element 605 is adapted to discriminate the size of paper in a paper feed cassette, and a magnetic detecting element 205 and a detecting element 174 are adapted to output a signal for discriminating the existence and absence of paper in the cassette. A cassette change switch 1028 is adapted to select and change either automatic paper feed of an automatic paper feed mechanism. Output signals of the respective switches are input to a display selection control 151. The control portion 151 controls a display device 152 to display the selection of a cassette, paper size and the existence of paper.</p> |
