PURPOSE:To improve high temp. shelf-life after recording by using a resin and a cyanine dye both of which have a crosslinkable group such as OH or the like for the resin and the cyanine dye having an indole ring which may be condensed with an arom. ring at both ends and forming an optical recording layer in which both are crosslinked by a metallic crosslinking agent on a base. CONSTITUTION:The cyanine dye having an indole ring which may be condensed with an arom. ring at both ends as expressed by the formula [R1 is (substd.) alkyl, (substd.) aryl, the substituent may be further substd. by SO3H, OH, COOH, etc., R2, R3 are alkyl, aryl, R4 is COOH, OH, etc., P is 0 or 1-4] and the resin component having OH, COOH and SO3H groups are crosslinked by metallic crosslinking agent of alkoxide or chelate compd. of Ti, Zr or Al to form an optical recording layer. Such recording layer is formed on a base plate to form an optical recording medium. The recording medium which is particularly free from migration of the dye, recrystallization, reflocculation, etc. after recording and maintains the initial S/N ratio without deteriorating the same at high temp. is thus obtd. |
