PURPOSE:To obtain an advantageous catalyst without precipitating metal platinum, in reacting a platinum compound, a coordination compound containing an element belonging to the Group VB and a tin compound in the presence of H2 or a gaseous mixture consisting of H2 and CO, by allowing hydrogen halide to coexist. CONSTITUTION:A platinum compound, a coordination compound containing an element belonging to the Group VB of the Periodic Table, a tin compound and hydrogen halide are reacted in the presence of H2 or a gaseous mixture consisting of H2 and CO. By this method, platinum can be effectively used without the formation of a platinum-tin complex caused by the precipitation of metal platinum. For example, when this catalyst is used in hydroforming reaction, it shows high activity and, further, an induction period can be substantially eliminated.
|
