The arrangement has a limited space (3) so dimensioned that a number of cows (1) can be enclosed. It also has a number of locations (4-9) for different sorts of fodder, monitors (10,11) which identify the number of animals located alongside the various fodder locations and further monitors which allocate identified animals to a specific fodder amount at the feed locations. - The feed locations are suitable for rough fodder. With identified animals before these locations, the fodder is freely available for continuous intake either on the basis of a specific time interval or during the whole period in which the requirement of the animal persists. The time, the quantity of fodder corresp. to the time and the feed intake in terms of the time are recorded for comparison with the productive output.
