PURPOSE:To decrease the flickering of a standstill part of screen at low speed shot coding mode by discriminating the degree of movement to a picture subjected to low speed shot and applying a replaced reproducing picture when the movement is small and applying an interpolated reproducing picture when the movement is large. CONSTITUTION:A selector 13 outputs an original picture signal at an odd number field and outputs a reproducing picture fed from a selector 12 at an even number field subjected to low speed shot. In the reproducing picture of the 2nd even number field screen 17 subjected to the low speed shot, the intepolated reproducing picture decides the replaced reproducing picture depending on the difference among the part (picture element) corresponding to the 1st and 3rd, odd number field screen field screens 15, 16 before and after the screen 17. For example, when the difference among the picture element b' of the 2nd even number field screen 17 and picture elements b, b'' corresponding to the 1st and 3rd odd number field screens and also the picture elements a, a'' and c, c'' before and after the screen 17 is all a threshold value or below to determine the dynamic picture and the still picture, it is regarded as an element with less dynamic element to obtain a replaced reproducing picture. In other cases, the interpolated reproducing picture is obtained. |
