PURPOSE:To precisely detect a flame to improve the safety function of a burner by forming flame rods so that they surely make contact with the flame irrespective of the size of the flame. CONSTITUTION:A burner head 5 is formed by providing gas passages 7 in the form of a plurality of grooves using a heat-resisting insulator. Further, flame rods 10 in a number equal to the number of grooves, are provided on the upper surface of the grooves. The flame rods 10 in respective grooves are collected to the center of the burner head 5 to form an electrode. Thus, even when the flame is throttled and made small, the tip ends of flame rods 10 are in burner ports 8. The flame 9 surely touches the tip ends of the flame rods 10. Accordingly, it is possible to detect an ion current without any erroneous operation. |
