The invention relates to equipment of the massage table type allowing a patient to be treated by stretching, solely under the weight of his own body. It comprises: on the one hand legs 2 whose inclination allows the plate 7 provided with a stationary bar 9 which can move on its axis and a bar 10 carrying pulleys 11, to tilt past the vertical around a spindle 3, and on the other hand by legs 5 carrying two seats 5 and 6 allowing various positions to be assumed; lastly, suspension elements linking the patient to the system. Amongst the most important applications, mention may be made of the possibility of treating certain spinal or hip conditions by stretching, and certain respiratory disorders by leaning. <IMAGE>
