PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a peak shift by the edge noise by forming a magnetic head surface so as to be made flush with the projecting and rising surface of the 2nd magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head surface ghij is formed and finished by polishing so as to be made flush with the rising surface A of the 2nd magnetic layer 5 after a thin film process and the edge hi on the 1st magnetic layer 1 side is chamfered. Since the edge gj on the 2nd insulating layer 5 side is smoothly formed by the thin film process, no edges are formed thereto. The generation of the peak shift by the edge noise is thus prevented and the read accuracy is improved. |
