The invention relates to electronic thermometers. An electronic thermometer comprises in particular an oscillator 4 whose frequency dependence on temperature is utilised, counters 5, 6 intended to count the pulses emitted by the oscillator, a network of storage flip-flops 7, a decoder 8 and a display device 10. Because of the narrow temperature range in which a medical thermometer is used, the counting capacity of the counters is limited to the least significant figures of the total number of pulses counted in one measurement, and the temperature displayed is replaced by special indications in the case when the temperature measured is less than or greater than the temperature range provided for.
