摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the propelling efficiency by making the strut of a shaft bracket, which has at its end a propeller shaft support bearing, in a wing cross section whose reference line is slanted relative to the propeller shaft in the direction opposite to the screw rotation. CONSTITUTION:Multiple struts which are positioned in front of a screw propeller 10 in the stern and has at its end a propeller shaft support bearing are made with a wing cross section 7a. Further, the slant angle theta of the wing cross section 7a relative to the reference line 7b of the propeller shaft P is set so that it may provide the influx into the screw propeller with a rotary component opposite to the rotation of the screw propeller. In this manner, the resistance by the shaft bracket is reduced, and the propelling efficiency of the hull can be improved.
