The mechanism is designed for Boehm-system clarinets in E flat, D, C, B flat, A, alto and basset horn. This mechanism employs a second hole of the twelfth 16 situated halfway between the thumb stud 22 and the existing hole of the twelfth 15 and it employs a transmission rod 7, a rocker 6, a lever 3, a key 4 and 5 and an extension 9 of the C/F key. The extra hole 16, which is opened or closed by the automatic mechanism controlled by the wing of the hole of the twelfth 1, the thumb ring 2 and the low E/middle B, low F/middle C and low F sharp/middle C sharp, improves the intonation, timbre and production over some fifteen notes on Boehm-system and other clarinets. <IMAGE>
